A clean-up operation has begun on the Isle of Man at the old Villiers Hotel site in Douglas.
Island-based Tevir Group has bought the buildings and land comprising of Villiers House, Clarendon House and land including a development plot and the area known as the ‘town square’.
The Villiers Hotel was built in the nineteenth century and one of the largest in Douglas - it was demolished in the 1980s.
Both the Isle of Man Government and Douglas Borough Council have discussed plans with the group, with regard to development of the town square and a comprehensive clean-up.
Tevir Group says it's the first phase of a project "that will ultimately lead to a contemporary public space being developed."
