Tevir offer up Castle Mona for parking

Men in Sheds is just one of the schemes ran by Live at Home, who aim to improve the quality of life and eliminate isolation and loneliness among older people on the Isle of Man by connecting people in communities that care. Above all, they provide reassurance that there is always someone you can turn to for help, advice, or simply a chat.
Set in the grounds of Ramsey Cottage Hospital, the shed is a workshop for creative projects involving metalwork, carpentry, and other skills., or to simply pop in for a cup of tea and game of cards. As the name suggests, it was initially aimed at men, but it is now open to women too and is always on the lookout for more volunteers and members to join.
They have recently had some enquiries about gardening at the shed, but unfortunately the garden was not fit for purpose. Not wanting to let anyone down, they were looking for people to help make the garden look brand new again, which is where Tevir come in.
After Tevir Group made a donation to Live at Home earlier this year on behalf of the Keith Jones Foundation, we wanted to get more hands on and support the well deserving charity. On 15th August, we spent the day there with our rakes and shovels making sure the garden was ready for planting.
It was such a lovely and rewarding day and we hope the gardeners love it! Special thanks to Karen Winter for supplying delicious sandwiches and endless cups of teas that kept us going.
Perhaps you would like to refer a member, donate, or even volunteer. For more information on the charity, visit their website here Isle of Man Live at Home
