Tevir Group supporting Hospice refurbishment
Hospice Isle of Man has announced plans to carry out major refurbishment work to further enhance the services and care it provides to its patients and their families....
Without Wings supports 1-1.5% of people affected by autoimmune conditions that impact the joints - e.g. rheumatoid, juvenile & psoriatic arthritis, lupus and ankylosing spondylitis, but there are dozens more.
Their approach is three-fold: awareness, information, and compassionate funding. In doing so, they provide much needed emotional/social support, as well as break down misconceptions about these much-misunderstood illnesses, so promoting crucial early diagnosis and a lobbying for better and easier accesses to resources.
The funding will go towards the core to their cause, 1:1 counselling. These conditions are exceptionally painful and difficult to manage and are usually described as 'progressive and incurable', this leads to lifelong, aggressive medical intervention that can be complex to both access and manage.
These conditions also affect any age and their unpredictability - plus their ability to affect many systems in the body, including mobility, can play havoc with mental health - but this aspect is often marginalised by society because of the generally 'invisible' nature of the conditions. The Keith Jones Foundation were delighted to donate £2,500 to such a worthy charity and cause.
